Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026
In short: we collect only what you send us through the forms, we use it only to reply to you, and we pass it to no one for their own purposes.
1. Who we are
This policy describes how we handle the personal data we receive through this website. The data controller is Вин Селект ЕООД, registered at 14 Kapitan Georgi Mamarchev St., Varusha-North, 5000 Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
For anything concerning your personal data, write to us at winebulgaria@gmail.com or call +359 877 667 440.
2. What we collect
This is a static site with no user accounts. We collect personal data only when you send it to us yourself, through one of the two forms on the Contact page.
A booking request gives us:
- your name
- your email address
- your preferred date
- the size of your party
- any special requests you choose to add
A message through the contact form gives us:
- your name
- your email address
- the subject
- the body of your message
Alongside each submission the server records the IP address it came from, the exact time, and the language you were reading. Those three values are added to the email we receive, so that we can judge the context of an enquiry and recognise abuse.
We collect nothing about visitors who only read the site without submitting a form.
3. Why we use it, and on what basis
We use your data solely to answer the enquiry you sent and to arrange the tasting or event you wrote about. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
The IP address and submission time are processed under Article 6(1)(f) — our legitimate interest in protecting the forms from automated abuse, and in preventing our server from being used to send unsolicited mail.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we make no automated decisions. We will not add you to a mailing list unless you explicitly ask us to.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries stay in our mailbox for as long as we need them to handle the enquiry and to meet accounting obligations — 24 months.
- The anti-abuse counter stores only an irreversible cryptographic hash of the IP address, never the address itself, and clears itself automatically one hour after a submission.
- The server's technical log records the date, which form was used, whether the message sent successfully, and the sender's email address.
5. Who else can see it
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. Your data does reach the following providers, who process it on our behalf:
- Our hosting provider, on whose servers the site runs and through whose mail server the message is sent.
- Google — enquiries arrive in a Gmail mailbox, so Google processes their contents as our email provider.
- Google Fonts — the site's typefaces are loaded from Google's servers. Opening a page makes your browser request them, which discloses your IP address to Google. This happens on every visit, whether or not you submit a form.
6. Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies, and carries no web analytics or behavioural tracking of any kind.
If you switch language using the toggle in the top right, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so that we can open the same language next time. That value never leaves your device and never reaches us. It clears when you clear the site's data in your browser.
7. Your rights
As a data subject you have the right to request:
- access to the personal data we hold about you
- correction of anything inaccurate
- erasure of your data
- restriction of processing
- portability of your data
- objection to processing based on legitimate interest
Write to winebulgaria@gmail.com and we will respond within one month. If you believe we are handling your data unlawfully, you may complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia.
8. Changes to this policy
If the way we handle personal data changes, we will update this text and the date beneath the title. We will note material changes on the page itself.
